When visiting the CRA-Direct website and platform, information about your browsing may be recorded in files called "cookies" installed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone).

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file or identifier deposited and stored on your device when you visit a website. It allows the issuer to identify your device during visits and record certain technical data or browsing preferences to improve user experience and ensure proper functioning of interactive features.

2. Types of cookies used by CRA Direct

We strictly limit cookies to what is strictly necessary to provide our self-assessment services and secure your user session.

A. Essential technical cookies

These cookies are indispensable for Platform navigation, secure access to your workspace, and remembering your cookie preferences. Per CNIL guidelines and Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act, these cookies do not require your prior consent and cannot be disabled via our consent tool.

B. Analytics and audience measurement cookies

These tracers allow us to collect anonymous visit statistics (page views, time on site, traffic sources) to analyze usage of our CRA compliance assessment tools and optimize Platform performance. Collected IP addresses are immediately truncated and anonymized at the server level. These cookies are subject to your prior consent.

3. Cookie table

Cookie name Source Purpose Lifetime
PHPSESSID CRA Direct (Internal) Session cookie maintaining secure connection state and diagnostic integrity. Session (deleted on browser close)
cookies-accepted CRA Direct (Internal) Records your analytics cookie acceptance/refusal choice to avoid prompting on every visit. 6 months max
_ga, _gid Google Analytics / Matomo Anonymized audience and traffic measurement to optimize the user journey. 13 months max

4. Managing your choices

A. Modify your choices on CRA Direct

You can reopen our internal consent tool at any time to revoke or grant consent for optional analytics tracers by clicking the button below:

B. Configure your browser

Most browsers allow you to globally refuse cookies or choose on a case-by-case basis:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Options > Privacy & security > Cookies and site data.
  • Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Block all cookies.
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Site permissions > Cookies and site data.

5. Consent duration

  • Your cookie choice is stored for 6 months. After this period, the cookie banner will reappear automatically.
  • Analytics cookies have a maximum lifetime of 13 months, after which associated browsing data is purged and anonymized.
